Adventure Motorcycle Trousers

On an adventure ride, you stand on the footpegs, step off in the mud, and sit in the saddle for hours on end. Adventure trousers must be able to withstand all of this: waterproof, with stretch where you move, and with knee protection that stays in place.

From Alpinestars you'll find the Andes in v2, v3 and v4 with Drystar, also in short and long versions, the Bogota Pro with a separate Summer version, and at the top, the Nazca 3L GTX with three-layer Gore-Tex.From Leatt there is the ADV DriTour 5.5 with a 20K water column, AA certified with level 2 protectors, and the ADV Rally 7.5 with HydraDri 30K.

What the K-value means

20K or 30K refers to the water column in millimeters: how high a column of water can be before the material leaks. Higher means the fabric remains waterproof longer under sustained rain and under the pressure of the wind. For a day in drizzle, 20K is sufficient; if you ride for hours in heavy rain, you'll notice the difference.

This determines whether your knee protector sits on your kneecap or slips down below it. On the motorcycle, you sit with bent knees and the trousers slide up, so check the position while seated, not standing. Many models are therefore available in short and long.

Combining with a Knee Brace

If you ride off-road with a knee brace, you'll need noticeably more room in the leg. Try on the trousers with the protection you actually wear.Unsure about the size? Use our size advisor. All trousers at WheelsWork come through official European distributors.
