A motorcycle can be lifted and carried away in seconds. No lock makes theft impossible, but a good lock makes your motorcycle the least attractive target on the street and costs a thief so much time and noise that he will look elsewhere. Multiple layers of security work better than one heavy lock.

Which type suits which situation

Disc lock. Compact and quick to apply, ideal for on the go and short stops. It keeps your motorcycle in place but does not prevent it from being lifted. Always attach your disc lock along with a reminder to the handlebar or your keychain. Riding off with a disc lock on will cost you a brake disc and usually a fall.
