Motorcycle Trousers: The Most Often Skipped Item

Many riders invest in a good jacket and helmet, and then hit the road in jeans. Yet, your hips, knees, and shins hit the ground just as hard in a fall. Motorcycle trousers protect precisely those areas, and with the right choice, you'll ride more comfortably than in regular trousers.

Alpinestars Drystar and Gore-Tex

The majority of this collection consists of Alpinestars. The Andes is a popular touring and adventure trouser with Drystar waterproof technology, available in short and long versions to ensure the correct length. The Bogota Pro is in the same segment, with a separate Summer version for warm days. The AMT-10R and AMT-8 Stretch feature Drystar XF, and for those who want the best, there's the Nazca 3L GTX and the Road Pro with Gore-Tex. For sport and track use, you'll find the leather Missile v3, also in short and long.

Waterproof: Membrane or Laminate

This is the difference you'll notice in practice. With a membrane with a removable lining, the waterproof layer is loose inside the trousers. This makes the trousers versatile, but the outer fabric soaks up water and dries slowly. With laminated trousers, the membrane is bonded to the outer fabric, preventing it from getting soaked. This is more expensive and usually less flexible seasonally, but more comfortable on long wet days.

Pay Attention to Length

Motorcycle trousers that are too long will bunch at your ankle inside your boot. If they're too short, your knee protector will slide down from your kneecap, precisely where it should be. Many models in this collection are therefore available in short and long leg lengths.
