Motocross and enduro from Sidi

The black Crosscore is the entry-level model. The X-Power SC in black and in black with white is a step up, and the X-Power Enduro is available in a standard and a WP waterproof version. The Trial Zero.2 in black and tobacco is a separate category: much more flexible than a motocross boot, because in trials you are constantly steering and balancing with your feet.

The Orion GTX in black and the Taurus GTX in grey with Gore-Tex, and from Leatt the ADV 8.5 HydraDri. These sit between motocross and touring: waterproof and easier to walk in, with less stiffness than a true motocross boot.

Motocross, enduro or trials: that is a real choice

Motocross. Maximum stiffness, high shaft, multiple buckles. On the track, you want nothing else. You hardly walk in them. Enduro. Slightly more flexible at the ankle so you can shift gears and support yourself with your foot on long rides, and often waterproof. Trials. Flexible and light, with a thin sole for feel. No protection for high speed. Don't buy a motocross boot for an enduro weekend and don't buy an enduro boot for the track: both will only partially work.

Try them on with motocross socks, which are thicker than regular socks. Check if the buckles are replaceable, as that is the part that breaks first. For Sidi, most buckles are available separately, which means a boot can last years longer. In doubt? Use our size advisor. All boots at WheelsWork come through official European distributors.

Off-road motorcycle boots

Q: Offroad motorcycle boots

An offroad boot is the stiffest footwear you wear on a motorcycle, and that's precisely the intention. In a fall off-road, your leg often gets caught between the bike and the ground, and a boot that gives way will allow your ankle to twist through.
