Motorcycle hoodies and jackets: protection that doesn't look like motorcycle gear

A motorcycle hoodie is meant for rides where you don't want to be in full gear. A short ride through the city, to work, or to the pub with friends. From the outside, it looks like a normal hoodie, but inside there's reinforcement and space for protectors. This way, you don't have to choose between arriving comfortably and riding protected.

The Alpinestars Chrome line

This collection largely revolves around Alpinestars' Chrome series. The Chrome v2 is the base, available in a wide range of colorways. The Chrome Air has mesh panels and is designed for warm days, whereas the standard v2 provides more coverage. The Chrome Ignition is in the same line with its own look.Additionally, you'll find the Neo Waterproof for rides where it might rain, and the Sherpa with a lined interior for colder days.

Pay attention to the protectors

This is the most important point with a motorcycle hoodie. Many models come with prepared pockets for shoulder, elbow, and back protection, but not always with the protectors included. Check per model what is included and what you need to order separately. A hoodie without protectors only protects you from scrapes, not from impact.

A motorcycle hoodie should fit more snugly than a regular hoodie, otherwise, the protectors will slide out of position. At the same time, you should be able to wear a thin layer underneath.
