What you sacrifice with a jet helmet

To be fair, a jet helmet does not have a chin bar. In a frontal impact, your chin and jaw will hit the ground directly. Research into helmet damage consistently shows that the chin area is one of the most frequently impacted zones. That doesn't make a jet helmet a wrong choice, but it is a conscious one. For city traffic at lower speeds, many riders consciously choose visibility and comfort. For highway and longer rides, a full-face or modular helmet is the safer option.

ECE 22.06 is the current standard and is stricter than the old 22.05, including rotational forces.Visor or sun shield. Without a visor, you need goggles to protect against wind, insects, and stone chips. Many models have an internal sun visor, which is more pleasant in summer than sunglasses under your helmet.Measure your head circumference one centimeter above your eyebrows. Unsure?
