Working out the right piston kit

Question

Accepted Answer

Always start with your bore size. Pistons come in several diameters, often marked with a letter or listed as oversize. Measure the cylinder or have it measured, and if it has been rebored, choose the matching oversize. Coated cylinders are usually not rebored, so they stay on the standard size. Also compare model, engine size and year, as pistons can differ within a single model. Always replace rings, pin and clips along with the piston and follow the break-in procedure.
