The brand was founded by Henri Gorthuis, who worked as a mechanic in Grand Prix in the 1980s, and is now in its third generation of ownership. The exhausts are made in the Netherlands and are used worldwide by racing teams.

For a two-stroke engine, the header pipe determines the character of the engine. HGS customizes the shape and volume to the engine block, focusing on manageable traction rather than a peak that you lose control of.
