Sidi Adventure 2 or Taurus: Which Adventure Boot Suits You?

11 October 2026/3 min read

Short answer: the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex is the proven all-rounder with hook-and-loop closure and two buckles, sturdy and waterproof. The Mid Adventure 2 is the same idea in a lower version, great if you walk a lot or want a shorter shaft. The Sidi Taurus GTX is the newer premium model with two dials that let you tighten or loosen the boot with one hand. If you ride a lot of real off-road, also look at the Crossfire 3 SRS.

Sidi is one of the best-known names in motorcycle boots, and in the adventure segment two models are the most popular: the Adventure 2 and the Taurus. Both are waterproof with Gore-Tex and made for tarmac and unpaved roads. Still, there are clear differences. In this comparison you will read which one suits you.

The differences at a glance

Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex: the proven all-rounder

The Adventure 2 has been a staple for touring and adventure riders for years. It closes with hook-and-loop and two adjustable buckles that you can replace, and you set the calf width with hook-and-loop. The Gore-Tex membrane keeps your feet dry and lets moisture escape. The boot is certified to EN 13634, the European standard for motorcycle boots. It comes in black and in tobacco.

Sidi Mid Adventure 2 Gore-Tex: lower and more flexible

Do you want the quality of the Adventure 2, but walk a lot next to your bike or find a tall shaft too much? Then the Mid Adventure 2 is a nice middle ground. It is lower and therefore easier to put on and take off, and more pleasant to walk in. Keep in mind that a lower shaft covers less of your shin.

Sidi Taurus GTX: comfort and dials

The Taurus is the newer premium model in Sidi's adventure line. Instead of buckles it has two NUUN dials, a system similar to BOA. With them you tighten or loosen the boot with one hand, even on the move. It also has a Gore-Tex membrane, an upper of flexible microfibre with reinforcements on the impact zones, a flexible ankle support system and a rubber sole with grip on footpegs and unpaved surfaces. The components are replaceable.

According to early testers, the Taurus feels more flexible at the ankle than the Adventure 2 and has more room at the toes, which makes walking next to the bike more pleasant.

Mostly riding off-road? Look at the Crossfire 3 SRS

The Adventure 2 and Taurus are made for a mix of tarmac and unpaved roads. If you ride a lot of really rough terrain, enduro or motocross, an off-road boot such as the Sidi Crossfire 3 SRS offers more stiffness and protection. It is less comfortable to walk in next to the bike, though. Also read our guide to getting started with motocross.

The right size

Measure your foot length at the end of the day and wear the socks you also wear on the bike when trying on. Your toes should have some room, and your heel must not lift when you walk. If you are torn between two sizes, let us know. You will find more tips in the right size of motorcycle clothing.

Frequently asked questions

Are Sidi adventure boots waterproof?

Yes. The Adventure 2, Mid Adventure 2 and Taurus all three have a Gore-Tex membrane, which is waterproof and breathable.

What is the difference between buckles and dials?

Buckles are simple, robust and easy to replace. Dials let you adjust the fit continuously and with one hand, even on the move.

Can I walk well in these boots?

Better than in an off-road boot. The Mid Adventure 2 and the Taurus are the most pleasant to walk in.

Do Sidi boots run true to size or small?

That differs per foot and per model. Start from your measured foot length and Sidi's size chart, and contact us if in doubt.

Which Sidi suits an adventure trip with unpaved sections?

The Adventure 2 and the Taurus are both made for that. If you want the sturdiest, choose the Adventure 2. If you want the most comfort for long days, choose the Taurus.
