Sidi boots explained: which model suits you? (2026)

18 September 2026/6 min read

Short answer: Sidi splits its boots into five families: adventure (Adventure 2, Mid Adventure 2, Taurus GTX, Gavia 2 GTX, Orion GTX), motocross and enduro (Crosscore, Crossfire 3, Crossfire 3 SRS, Crossair X), trial (Trial Zero.2), sport and track (Performer, Mid Performer, Mag-2 Air, Rex Air) and city (Lynx, Nucleus, Arx, Kryo, Stryda, Urbex). Start by choosing the family that matches how you ride. Then look at three things: shaft height, closure system (buckles or dials) and whether you need a waterproof boot.

How to read Sidi model names

The suffix after a model name already tells you a lot about the boot:

  • GTX or Gore-Tex: has a Gore-Tex membrane. Waterproof and breathable.
  • WP: waterproof version.
  • Air: ventilated version, made for warm weather.
  • Mid: a lower shaft than the standard model.
  • SRS: Sole Replacement System. The sole is screwed on and you can replace it yourself with a screwdriver, so a worn boot does not have to be thrown out straight away.

In Europe, motorcycle boots are tested to the EN 13634 standard. The CE label inside the boot shows the level it achieved for each category, including height, abrasion resistance and rigidity.

Adventure and allroad

For riders who mix tarmac and gravel, spend long days in the saddle and need to be able to walk too.

Adventure 2 Gore-Tex: the all-rounder

The tall adventure boot with a Gore-Tex liner that runs all the way to the top of the shaft, so you stay dry even through a water crossing. It closes with two cam-lock buckles and a wide hook-and-loop flap at the top. The buckles are replaceable. A logical choice if you travel, take the odd gravel track and want to keep your feet dry. Available in black, tobacco and sand-ochre.

Mid Adventure 2 Gore-Tex: same idea, lower shaft

Also with Gore-Tex and adjustable buckles, but lower. Easier to walk in and quicker on and off, for example if you stop often or also use the bike for commuting. The trade-off: less protection high on the shin when you really go off road.

Taurus GTX: the new top of the adventure line

Sidi's newest adventure model and the most expensive in this family. The biggest difference: no buckles, but two NUUN dials. You tighten or loosen the boot with one hand, even on the move. Add Gore-Tex, a 3-point ankle support system and a Materiis rubber sole. Made for riders who cover a lot of miles and also leave the tarmac.

Gavia 2 GTX and Orion GTX: Gore-Tex at a lower price

The Gavia 2 GTX closes with cam-lock buckles and has replaceable parts. The Orion GTX combines abrasion-resistant microfiber with Hypertex. Both have Gore-Tex and are certified to EN 13634.

Motocross and enduro

MX boots are stiffer and taller than adventure boots. They are built for impacts, footpegs and rocks, not for long walks, and they are not waterproof.

Crosscore: the entry model

Four adjustable buckles, a thermoformed tongue and a rear flex hinge, with reinforced shin and calf protection and heat-resistant panels. No break-in needed. For riders who are starting out or ride a few times a year.

Crossfire 3: Sidi's well-known MX boot

The model many riders think of first when they hear Sidi. A hinge on both sides of the ankle lets your foot move, but stops hard before the ankle bends too far. Many parts can be replaced individually.

Crossfire 3 SRS: with a replaceable sole

The same base, with four cam-lock buckles, an adjustable calf and a replaceable shin plate. The difference is the sole: you unscrew it and fit a new one yourself. Besides the standard sole, Sidi also offers a more aggressive enduro sole. Useful for enduro, where you ride and walk over rocks a lot and the sole wears faster. Testers describe the fit as slim.

Crossair X: the top model

Built around a light fiberglass-reinforced frame, with a system that protects the ankle against over-extension at three points, four buckles and a Materiis sole. For riders who ride a lot, ride hard and want a light boot.

Trial Zero.2: made for trial

A heelless rubber sole and rubber grip on the inside for maximum feel on the footpeg, a breathable Teflon mesh lining and a fixed shin plate. Certified to EN 13634.

Sport and track

For the sports bike and the track day: boots that fit tightly around ankle and shin.

Performer and Mid Performer: accessible sport boots

A sport boot for the road, also available in a lower Mid version.

Mag-2 Air: ventilated racing boot

For riders who ride hard on warm days or head to the track now and then.

Rex Air: the top model for the track

The top of Sidi's racing line, also ventilated.

City and short rides

If you mainly ride in town or to work, you want something that looks like a normal shoe but still protects. The Lynx, Nucleus, Arx, Kryo and Stryda are sneakers with CE protection. For dry feet, choose a waterproof version such as the Nucleus GTX, the Arx WP or the Urbex.

Getting the size right

Try boots on with the socks you wear on the bike, and check for room at the toes without your heel lifting. Several retailers report that the Adventure 2 runs slightly small and narrow; if you are between sizes, the larger one is usually the safe choice. Not sure? Use our size advisor or contact us.

Frequently asked questions

What does SRS mean on Sidi boots?

SRS stands for Sole Replacement System. The sole is screwed on and you can replace it yourself with a screwdriver, so the boot lasts longer.

What is the difference between the Adventure 2 and the Mid Adventure 2?

Height. The Mid has a lower shaft and is easier to walk in; the standard Adventure 2 protects higher up the shin and is waterproof to the top edge.

What is the difference between the Adventure 2 and the Taurus GTX?

Mainly the closure. The Adventure 2 closes with two cam-lock buckles, the Taurus GTX with two NUUN dials that you adjust with one hand. Both have Gore-Tex.

Is a Sidi with Gore-Tex really waterproof?

The membrane is waterproof. Water can still get in from the top, for example via your trousers or when riding through deep water. Wear your trousers over the boot.

Crossfire 3 or Crossfire 3 SRS?

If you mostly ride the MX track, the Crossfire 3 is enough. If you ride enduro or walk over rocks a lot, the screw-on sole of the SRS is worth it.

Can I ride motocross in an adventure boot?

For gravel roads and dirt tracks, no problem. For real motocross an MX boot is stiffer and protects better against impacts.
