Choosing brake discs and components

A brake disc is chosen on diameter, thickness and bolt pattern, and all three have to match your original. Floating discs use buttons that absorb heat expansion, which keeps them truer under hard braking. Fixed discs are simpler and cheaper. Check the minimum thickness engraved on your original disc, because it must not go below that. Radially mounted calipers need a matching adapter.
