An HGS silencer for the Yamaha YZ250 from 1996 to 2001.
HGS has been building exhausts for motocross tracks and off-road riding since 1988. The brand was founded by Henri Gorthuis, who worked as a mechanic in Grand Prix racing in the 1980s, and is now run by the third generation. The exhausts are made in the Netherlands and are used worldwide by racing teams.
The silencer determines the back pressure and thus how the engine delivers its power. The internal components can be overhauled, so you replace the packing instead of the entire silencer.
