HGS has been building exhausts for motocross tracks and forests since 1988. The brand was founded by Henri Gorthuis, who worked as a mechanic in Grand Prix racing in the 1980s, and is now in its third generation of ownership. The exhausts are made in the Netherlands and are used worldwide by racing teams.

For a two-stroke engine, the exhaust bend determines the character of the engine. HGS tunes the shape and volume to the engine block, focusing on manageable pulling power rather than an unmanageable peak.
