Putoline N-Tech® Pro R keeps the engine lubricated and dissipates heat. Content 4 litres.
Viscosity 15W-50. The correct viscosity for your motorcycle is stated in the instruction manual and varies per model and year of manufacture.
What this oil does
Motorcycle oil does more work in a motorcycle than in a car. In most motorcycles, the same oil lubricates the engine, gearbox, and wet clutch. This means the oil must simultaneously lubricate, cool, carry away dirt, and maintain enough grip so that your clutch does not slip.
If you ride with oil that is too old or too little, you will first notice it by a gearbox that shifts heavier and an engine that gets hotter than normal.
What to consider when choosing
- The prescribed viscosity is stated in your instruction manual and varies per model and year of manufacture. Always refer to that, not to what fits another motorcycle.
- If your motorcycle has a wet clutch, the oil must be suitable for it. Car oil with friction-reducing additives can cause the clutch to slip.
- Check how much oil your motorcycle needs, including a filter change. This often saves half a litre compared to the specification without a filter.
Changing
Preferably change the oil when the engine is at operating temperature, as it will drain more quickly and carry away more dirt. Replace the sealing ring of the drain plug and tighten it to the prescribed torque. Then fill up to the middle of the sight glass or between the marks on the dipstick, let the engine run briefly, and check again.
