Putoline N-Tech® Pro R provides lubrication for your engine under varying loads. Content 4 liters.
Viscosity 5W-40. The viscosity your engine requires is stated in the owner's manual and varies by model and year of manufacture.
What this oil does
Engine oil does more work in a motorcycle than in a car. In most motorcycles, the same oil lubricates the engine, gearbox, and wet clutch. This means the oil must simultaneously lubricate, cool, carry away dirt, and maintain enough grip so that your clutch doesn't slip.
If you ride with oil that is too old or too little, you will first notice it by a harder-shifting gearbox and an engine that gets hotter than normal.
What to look for when choosing
- The prescribed viscosity is stated in your owner's manual and varies by model and year of manufacture. Always base your decision on that, not on what fits another motorcycle.
- If your motorcycle has a wet clutch, the oil must be suitable for it. Car oil with friction-reducing additives can cause the clutch to slip.
- Check how much oil your engine needs, including a filter change. This often means half a liter more than the specification without a filter.
Changing
Preferably change the oil when the engine is at operating temperature, as the oil will drain more easily and carry away more dirt. Replace the sealing ring of the drain plug and tighten it to the prescribed torque. Then fill it to the middle of the sight glass or between the marks on the dipstick, let the engine run briefly, and check again.
