Putoline Sport 4R ensures the lubrication of your engine block under varying loads. Content 4 liters.
Viscosity 10W-40. The viscosity your engine requires is stated in the owner's manual and varies by model and year of manufacture.
What this oil does
Engine oil does more work in a motorcycle than in a car. In most motorcycles, the same oil lubricates the engine, gearbox, and wet clutch. This means the oil must simultaneously lubricate, cool, carry away dirt, and maintain enough grip so that your clutch does not slip.
If you ride with oil that is too old or too little, you will first notice it by a heavier shifting gearbox and an engine that runs hotter than normal.
What to look for when choosing
- The prescribed viscosity is stated in your owner's manual and varies by model and year of manufacture. Always go by that, not by what fits another motorcycle.
- If your motorcycle has a wet clutch, the oil must be suitable for it. Car oil with friction-reducing additives can cause the clutch to slip.
- Check how much oil your engine needs, including a filter change. This often saves half a liter compared to the specification without a filter.
Changing the oil
Preferably change the oil when the engine is at operating temperature, as the oil will drain more easily and carry away more dirt. Replace the drain plug sealing ring and tighten it to the prescribed torque. Then fill to the middle of the sight glass or between the marks on the dipstick, let the engine run briefly, and check again.
