Putoline N-TECH® BBR ensures lubrication of your engine block under varying loads. Content 15 liters.
Viscosity 10W-40. The viscosity required for your motorcycle can be found in the owner's manual and varies by model and year of manufacture.
What this oil provides
Engine oil does more work in a motorcycle than in a car. In most motorcycles, the same oil lubricates the engine, gearbox, and wet clutch. This means the oil must simultaneously lubricate, cool, carry away dirt, and maintain enough grip so your clutch doesn't slip.
If you ride with oil that is too old or too little, you will first notice it by a heavier-shifting gearbox and an engine that gets warmer than usual.
What to consider when choosing
- The prescribed viscosity is stated in your owner's manual and varies by model and year of manufacture. Always use this, not what fits another motorcycle.
- If your motorcycle has a wet clutch, the oil must be suitable for it. Car oil with friction-reducing additives can cause the clutch to slip.
- Check how much oil your motorcycle needs, including filter change. This often saves half a liter compared to the specification without a filter.
Changing the oil
Preferably change the oil when the engine is at operating temperature; then the oil flows out more smoothly and carries more dirt with it. Replace the sealing ring of the drain plug and tighten it to the prescribed torque. Then fill it to the middle of the sight glass or between the marks on the dipstick, let the engine run briefly, and check again.
