Putoline URBF DOT 4 transfers the pressure from your lever to the brake caliper. Volume 15 litres.
Why brake fluid ages
Glycol-based brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air. The more water it contains, the lower its boiling point. During prolonged braking, the fluid can then locally boil, and vapour can be compressed. You will notice this as a lever that suddenly comes all the way to the handlebar.
Most manufacturers recommend replacing brake fluid periodically, even if you don't ride many kilometres. This interval can be found in your instruction manual.
What to look out for
- DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 are both glycol-based. DOT 5 is silicone-based and should not be mixed with them.
- Always use an unopened bottle. An opened bottle will have already absorbed moisture.
- Brake fluid can damage paintwork. Cover your tank and immediately rinse off any spills with water.
