Where to use grease
Grease stays where oil runs off. On a motorcycle, you use it on wheel bearings, steering head bearings, swingarm pivot points, axle bodies, and threaded connections that you want to be able to loosen again later.
What to pay attention to
- Clean the surface first. Applying grease over sand acts like grinding paste.
- Use grease sparingly on nearby brake parts. Grease on a brake disc is not easily removed.
- When assembling a rear axle, a thin layer on the axle is enough to be able to loosen it later.
